Bratislava Airport is experiencing its busiest time of the year. The 2026 summer season brings changes to the summer flight schedule, which is in effect from March 29 to October 24. M. R. Flights depart from Bratislava to dozens of seaside destinations, both on scheduled routes and on vacation charters. A record-breaking summer: over 21,000 flights from Bratislava

The peak season at Bratislava Airport is concentrated in the four summer months. According to airport spokesperson Veronika Demovičová, from June to September scheduled more than 3,100 charter flights and over 10,200 scheduled departures and arrivals. Throughout the summer flight schedule, i.e., from late March to late October, the airport is expected to handle a total of over 4,000 charter flights and 17,000 scheduled flights.

Most charter flights carrying tourists depart from Bratislava to Antalya in Turkey, Hurghada in Egypt, Monastir in Tunisia, Larnaca in Cyprus, and the Egyptian resort of Marsa Alam. Travel agencies had originally planned charters to over 40 seaside destinations in 15 countries, but flights to Bahrain and Oman were canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East.

The 2026 season also brought several new developments:

• Brač and Djerba – Charter flights to a Croatian island and Tunisia began on June 5
• Cape Verde (Boa Vista/Sal), Karpathos – first flights in mid-June
• Castellón, Sharm el-Sheikh, Marrakesh – brand-new vacation destinations now available

The Czech carrier Smartwings operates the most charter flights; since June, it has also been offering scheduled flights to destinations such as Heraklion in Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, Burgas, and Palma de Mallorca. A new name at the airport is the Egyptian carrier Sky Vision Airlines, and Cyprus Airways is also returning after some time with charter flights to Larnaca.

What to Expect During Departure: What to Watch Out For

Bratislava Airport is one of the smaller and more manageable European airports, which is a huge advantage in the summer. Even so, there are a few tried-and-true rules to follow. Arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure; for early morning charter flights, it’s better to arrive two and a half hours early. Check-in counters for vacation flights are usually open two to three hours in advance, and security lines are longest during peak hours between 4:00 and 6:00 a.m.

The cheapest way to get to the airport is by public transportation, but buses don’t run all night, and traveling with luggage and children isn’t always a convenient option.
